Ministries
Bus Ministry
Through the bus ministry, we have the opportunity to visit in many homes and "preach the gospel." We believe that this is an important function of the church. In addition, we have the opportunity to bring close to fifty young people to church on Sunday mornings who would not have the opportunity to attend church otherwise. The rewards of this ministry have been nothing short of wonderful. Several families in our church began attending and were later saved after their children rode one of our busses for several years.
The primary goals of our bus ministry is to lead children to a saving knowledge of Christ, to teach them "to observe all things" that God has commanded, including God's command to faithfully attend church, and to instill in them a love for God and for His people. While we want young people to enjoy attending church, our primary focus in this ministry is to teach children to delight in Christ.
Nursing Home
Perhaps the most neglected and forgotten segment of our society is the elderly. In an age that worships youth, we desire to honor the gray head. Sadly, many of those in nursing homes do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior on a personal level. Through our nursing home ministry, we have the opportunity to extend the love of Christ to those who need love desperately. Our goals in this ministry are simple. We want to share the gospel with all those residents who will allow us to. We want to extend the love of Christ to every resident. And we want to be a faithful testimony of the goodness and grace and righteousness of God.
Evangelism Express
As soon as the evenings become long enough, we gather as a church once a week on Thursday nights, load up the bus, and enter into a neighborhood around Ogden in order to share the gospel and invite our neighbors to church. This ministry has been a wonderful time of fellowship and service together in our city, and we have been delighted at the opportunities that have come as a result of faithful canvassing.
Of course, we do not limit our evangelistic efforts to Thursday nights in the summer. We regularly use our Saturday mornings to canvass neighborhoods and evangelize. Faithful members are actively involved in ministry at Berean Baptist Church.
